What we don't collect.

TL;DR

SynthChord does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifying information. All your data (presets, recorded loops, custom SoundFonts, samples, settings) stays on your device. No analytics. No ads. No tracking. No accounts.

This policy explains what SynthChord ("the app", "we") does and does not collect when you use the app, why we make those choices, and how to contact us about your data. It is written to satisfy the disclosure requirements of the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If anything below is unclear, email privacy@synthchord.com.

Stored on your device

The following data lives only on your device and is never transmitted off-device by SynthChord:

  • App settings (theme, language, haptics, mixer levels, arpeggiator pattern, MIDI input toggle).
  • Tonality state (key, scale, octave, inversion, BPM, time signature, master gain).
  • User-saved presets and the active FX chain.
  • Imported custom SoundFonts (.sf2) and samples (.wav). Sandboxed documents directory.
  • Recorded looper buffer and exported MIDI files (saved to your device's exports directory until you choose to share or delete them).

Uninstalling the app removes all of the above.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email, phone number, or account credentials.
  • No device id, IP address, advertising id, or location.
  • No analytics events, screen views, or usage telemetry.
  • No crash reports.
  • No microphone access (the app does not request it; chord pads do not record audio).
  • No contact list, photo library, or calendar access.

Network connections

SynthChord makes network requests only for in-app purchases:

  • RevenueCat (revenuecat.com). When you tap "Unlock Pro" or "Restore purchases", the app communicates with RevenueCat's API so the store-issued purchase receipt can be validated and the Pro entitlement granted on your account.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store. RevenueCat in turn talks to the relevant store's purchase API. SynthChord itself never sees your store credentials.

RevenueCat's privacy policy lives at revenuecat.com/privacy. They process the purchase receipt and the anonymous "app user id" that RevenueCat generates per install. They do not receive your name, email, or any personal identifier from SynthChord.

If you never tap the paywall or restore-purchases button, the app makes no network requests at all.

Third-party services

  • RevenueCat (in-app purchases). See above.
  • No others. SynthChord does not embed any analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or social-login SDKs.

Children's privacy

SynthChord does not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age. The app is not directed at children, but it does not gate access by age, and using it does not require any data submission.

Data export, correction, deletion

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To remove all on-device data, uninstall the app. If you ran into a billing or restore issue first, the support page covers refunds and how to bring Pro back after a reinstall.

If you have purchased SynthChord Pro and want to revoke the purchase entitlement from RevenueCat's records, email privacy@synthchord.com and we will request RevenueCat delete the customer record tied to your installation.

About this website

The rest of this policy covers the SynthChord app. This section covers synthchord.com itself, which is a separate static marketing + legal site.

  • Hosting: Cloudflare Pages. Every request reveals your IP address to Cloudflare's edge in transit. Cloudflare uses this only to route the request and to mitigate abuse. No request logs are retained by us. Cloudflare's own data handling is described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Aggregate analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate. It is cookieless, sets no persistent identifiers, does not track you across sites, and does not store your IP address. No personal data is collected. No consent banner is required under GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) or LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018). You can block the beacon with any standard content blocker if you prefer.
  • Waitlist signups: Resend. If you submit your email through the waitlist form, we store it with Resend, our email-sending provider, after you click the confirmation link (double opt-in). We send one launch email when SynthChord ships on Android and one when iOS follows. No newsletter, no follow-ups. Resend's privacy policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy. To unsubscribe or delete your email, reply to any email we send or write privacy@synthchord.com.
  • Email forwarding: ImprovMX. The hello@ and privacy@ addresses are forwarded via ImprovMX to a private inbox. ImprovMX sees the forwarded message in transit. Their privacy policy: improvmx.com/privacy.

The marketing site embeds no third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Mixpanel), no advertising scripts, no social widgets, no chat widgets, no fonts that profile users. Google Fonts is loaded for typography only; Google receives a standard font-file request and the originating page URL.

Changes to this policy

Material changes (new third-party services, new categories of stored data) will be reflected here, the "Last updated" date will be bumped, and the in-app paywall + Settings section will surface a one-time notice on the next launch after the change.
